The National Infertility Support and Information Group – a voluntary organisation was established in Cork in 1996 by a group of dedicated people who needed and wanted to be in contact with others who understood their grief.
The grief that is infertility needs to be attended to. It needs to be understood and acknowledged. That is where NISIG can help.
NISIG empowers couples to contemplate real choices to guide them through their infertility journey. NISIG offers a confidential listening ear to couples and individuals. NISIG is non-judgemental and multi-denominational.
Bi-monthly meetings are held throughout Ireland.
Infertility Can Be An Isolating Experience.
You Are Not Alone!
Infertility - the inability to have a child - has the potential to dominate your life. It can bring great personal despair and suffering. The feelings experienced by infertile couples include disbelief, pain, isolation, exclusion, bitterness, anger, confusion, and depression. Unless addressed, the issues associated with infertility may encroach on your every waking moment, impinging on your self-esteem and sense of self – in short, infertility may cast a shadow over your creativity and leave you feeling utterly worthless as a human being.
