Re: How are people doing?

Hi Karina, I'm so so sorry to hear about your miscarriage - and the second one this year as well.  That is absolutely devastating. Be sure to be good to yourself over the next while and try not to expect too much of yourself.  (I went back to work right after having a miscarriage and in hindsight that was a bad idea.)

I don't think anyone else can advise you on what your next steps can be as it's such a personal decision, whether to keep trying yourselves or go for the donor option.  I would guess that your chances of success would be higher with donor egg, but obviously there are no guarantees and there are other issues to consider too with donor - losing the bio link, the travel and expense involved and invasive treatment.  I'm not trying to put you off - I did 6 IUI cycles and 6 IVF myself! - but just saying that only you can weigh up what is right for you and your family.

But you will get support here! I know numerous people who've had success with donor and I think it's becoming more and more common as an option that people consider.  I wish you luck with your decision, Karina.

Re: How are people doing?

Hi Karina,

I am so sorry to read your post. You are having such a hard time at the moment. This journey is so difficult. The ups and downs. I remember.

Our only option to have a family was the donor route but it was still scary. I was 29/30 when we started are ferility journey. I knew I had time on my side (our Doctor said that) but the longing to have a family was so hard to cope with.

What helped me was when I went to the NISIG meeting. At the time we were the only couple on that road, but now (sad to say) there are alot of couples. We all have different experiences both at home and aboard. Maybe it will help you decide what to do next. Give the support line a call and the girls will tell you when the next meeting is on.

Also have a look at the DC newtwork. Their website has alot of information. It helped us during our journey.

Wishing lots of hugs
