Hi all,
just looking at RTE news web page and saw "The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal by a woman seeking to have three frozen embryos released to her for implantation"......
Just thought some people might be interested in this.

It's me again.
Well it looks like the world of AHR in Ireland is getting lots of mention in the papers today, thanks to the decision of the Supreme Court.
Another link to The Irish Times and The Independent with articles about the decession.

Also last nights Prime Time on RTE1 had a small discussion on the decision. in
I hear ya, Caitriona, implantation is the holy grail isn't it, if they could figure that one out a lot of our troubles would be over! In some ways it's good that the whole issue is in the news but on the other hand, it's always the extreme/sensational end which makes the headlines, isn't it? It's the main reason why I could never tell my mother I was doing IVF - all she knew about it was from reports of women dying from OHSS. The fine detail gets lost in translation.
I do think this story does get us all thinking about our own feelings about the issue - personally, I've always taken the view that a lot of eggs and embryos produced naturally don't make it - sure, every embryo is a potential life, but as we all know it's a long and tricky journey from 1 cell to a baby. I do think of the embryos which we had transferred which didn't make it, but not about the others.
