Hi,
I'm a first timer on this site. We've been trying to conceive for 2 years now- my husband had a varoicocele which impacted on sperm motility, but he had a procedure this year to resolve that and his sperm motility has improved. I've had loads of blood tests and scans and all good and the next stage is a referral from our GP to a fertility clinic. We've read the HARI and Merrion website but are unsure which to choose. Any feedback from people would be great.
Tks
Missy
Hi Missy
We used the HARI and found them to be very good. Unfortunately we were not successfull, but were treated well by all the staff and the counselling service before and after was very good. It might be worth coming to one of the NISIG meetings to chat to other people who used Hari and those who used Merrion so that you could make a more informed descision. The best clinic is the one that produces a child for you. This may mean trying more than one...
The very best of luck whatever your descision

Thanks Clive for the suggestion- we might go to the next meeting in Dublin. We've asked the GP to refer us to Hari and will take it from there...
Thanks
Hi Missy,
The HARI are good. You will be probably be assessed initially by Dr. Mocanu who is a gentleman, then, if IVF is indicated you will have to attend for tests, a meeting, counselling and then finally get on the road to IVF. It always takes months longer than you think are there will inevitably be some delays and hiccups on the way, so factor that in, remain positive, keep patient and be nice to each other. The road is long, with plenty of speed bumps. Keep your eyes on the prize and laugh as much as you can. The best clinic is the one that produces a baby for you. We were not so lucky and had 5 IVFs at HARI but were happy to stick with them despite the lure of SIMS etc. They do try hard and they are not for profit, so thats reassuring. The very best of luck, and like I say, its worth popping along to one of the NISIG meetings. You will learn a lot.
Very best of luck
