Meetings..

Again I just want to thank Helen and all the members who attend the meetings..

Although it was pouring rain last Fri and I would have loved to have curled up in front of the telley I attended the meeting last Fri in Cork and I found it a great support..

It is so good to be able to talk openly.. to chat, to laugh, sometimes to cry but we are there for each other.. Although we have finished icsi treatment and are now starting the adoption journey I will continue to go to the meetings.. to give and to receive support..

I would encourage all members to attend when they can..

Thank you again, Folle

Re: Meetings..

Hi Folle,

Myself and Hubbie attened meetings in Dublin. Like you I found our meetings great. The encouragement and support was wonderful.

To talk openly to people who really  understand. I would have found our journey impossible without them.

I would encourage everybody to attend them too if they can .

Wishing you the best of luck in the next stage of your journey.

Re: Meetings..

I absolutely agree, I will never forget the relief I felt when we attended our first meeting, it was like a weight off. It felt like a safe space to share - there wasn't the usual fear I had in general company of being "ambushed" by someone's tactless remark. I would also like to encourage anyone to attend next Friday 5th September in Cork. Hope to see you there!

Re: Meetings..
Both Cats & Ger have stressed how beneficial the meetings were to them, something most of us would agree with. Just being in a space where you don't have to 'explain' your situation and where there is automatic understanding of what you are going through really helps. On that note there is a meeting in Dublin this Sat morning if anyone wants to go along. Drop a line to nisig3@eircom.net or ring 1890 647 444 between 7.15pm and 9.30pm for more information.

Re: Meetings..
We all value the support we get from each other, either through these Discussion boards or at meetings. For those who may not already know there will be a meeting in Dublin on Sat morning, 15th November, if anyone wants to go along. Drop a line to nisig3@eircom.net or ring 1890 647 444 between 7.15pm and 9.30pm for more information. Don't worry if you have never been to a meeting before; you will be warmly welcomed and rest assured everybody is in the same boat. It is hugely beneficial to talk to others who are travelling the same journey or to hear others experiences, particularly if they are a little further along that road.
