NaPro Website Warning

Hi Everyone,

I just had a look at the Napro website (www.fertilitycare.net), specifically on the link about NAPRO after IVF treatment and was totally horrified by what I read there.   The headings on this section of the site are as follows:

- IVF BABIES AT MORE RISK OF BIRTH DEFECTS THAN NATURALLY CONCEIVED BABIES

IVF in the UK - over 2 million embryonic lives lost since 1991

and

Test Tube Truths - Moral Dilemmas facing IVF Couples.

I have never tried NAPRO but I am eternally grateful to be the mother of twins following IVF treatment and I found this material really offensive.  It implies that IVF is morally the same as abortion.  I am a bit concerned that anyone who is currently undergoing IVF treatment would be really upset on reading it.

I wish anyone who tries NAPRO every success and really don't want to upset anyone who is committed to this treatment approach, but I want to ask why is this material on the NAPRO website?  What is their agenda?

Have a look at the website and you'll easily find the answer under the link headed:

 Catholic Church Teaching and IVF

all the best

Re: NaPro,

Hi Molly G,

I spent a year and a half with Napro in Galway, but had no luck with it and in fact stayed too long. I wouldn't spent any longer than a year with them. If there are autoimmune issues I don't think they can help. They certainly couldn't help me and I regret not having finished with it sooner than I did. It is also worthwhile exploring other options and keeping yourself informed on what treatments are out there while on the Napro road.
