Was discahrged for the hospital last week told me not much more they can do.. which is true.. so they have sent my referral letter onto the HARI Clinic any one any views on this clinic?? Spoke with lady in there today and for public its 12 months wait and for private it 10 months is this the norm?? I was told from the hospital i was discahrged from last week that it only takes about 3-6 weeks for appointment.

Re: IVF Waiting time

Hi Charlie,

we got an appointment with HARI in 3 months.  I think that is more the norm.  We found them very good - to the point and realistic but I liked the consultant's approach.  Are you heading to the Dublin meeting on Nov 7th?  Hope so.  I'm in exactly the same boat as you.  There is a general meeting about IVF in the Hari at then end of Nov so maybe even call them and ask them can you go before your appointment.

I am having a good day today but just taking one day at a time!

Look after yourself.

Re: IVF Waiting time

Hi Charlie, That sounds like a really long wait   I attended them and I think it was three months from referral til our first appt.  I'm surprised they'd now be 10 months, esp given the recession!  I guess the best thing to do is get your GP's referral in to them and then phone them.  It's always good to make sure that they have received the letter - you don't want to wait a few months and then discover that you're not even on the list yet.  And while you're speaking to them, you could mention that you are available to take a cancellation - that might speed things up a bit for you.  In the meantime, it's worthwhile to check what results they need from you (FSH Day 3, progesterone Day 21, rubella status, that sort of thing) and get cracking with those if you haven't them done already.  And I would advise that you request you own copy of every test you and your partner get done and keep them on file.  It can be a real headache trying to chase those sorts of things up in retrospect and plus you're entitled to them!

Like I said, I attended this clinic and I found them to be excellent.  I didn't have success there but I would recommend them.
