Re: Another newby

Hi there Cats,

Couldnt make the meeting today as had accupuncture   I find it really helps me and have also started taking chinese herbs too.  Am trying to do as much as I can so I am as relaxed as I can be before my appointment at the HARI at the end of April.  We sent our application form for membership so will definitely plan to go to the next meeting in Dublin.

What about you? How are your twins? How old are they? Bet they are a handful but a joy at the same time

Re: Another newby

Hi Cats,

Hope you had a good weekend.  Acupuncture was good thanks and Im actually getting used to drinking the vile herbs that I have to drink twice a day for a week.  I just hope it does something!!

Would like to have gone to the meeting alright and will definitely go to the next one.  It would be good to talk to people who know how you are feeling and know what you are talking about.

Hope the twins are doing well and looking forward to meeting you in person.

Have a good week

Re: Another newby
Hey there Daisy, so sorry to see all that you have been going through - it is really rough. I hear what you're saying about all your friends having babies and the pressure your marriage is under. It is such a strain to be coping with all this and meanwhile everyone else trundles off into the sunset with their happy families! It is just very hard to be the one left behind.

I really hope you do make it along to the next NISIG meeting - it is so worthwhile going. Just to feel you are among people who understand, although everyone's journey is different in some way.

I did lots of acupuncture too (and also those disgusting herbs - my saucepans will never be the same again!!) and I found the acu to be so relaxing. It was worth it just for that. I hope you've found someone who specialises in fertility issues. But either way if you're finding it relaxing and enjoyable that has to be beneficial of itself - purely in the sense of getting you through these rough days and weeks and months.

Good luck to you with your ivf consult. It can be crushing to hear that this might be your only option - but lots of us have been through it and found it to be manageable - although I won't hide it from you that emotionally it can be hard going. I hope you have success very soon!

Re: Another newby

Hi Catriona,

Thanks for your reply and your kind words. Im really amazed at how different it feels to talk to someone who knows how you are feeling.  I cant complain and a lot of people around me have been really supportive and I know I am lucky but it can be hard to explain exactly hwo your are feeling and how some days your midn runs away with you and you focus on the negative and then the next day you are really positive and full of enthusiasim :-)

Yes both my accupuncturist and herbalist specialise in fertility issues.  Accupuncture is great for relaxing alright and it has also helped greatly with my temperatures and regulating my cycle. Its only my second week on the herbs but they have made a difference already.  They are really vile and still stinking up the whole house and as you said wrecking the pots and my lovely little tea pot, but Im determined to give it a go, and for now it feels like its the best option for me going down the natural route.  Will see what happens after my HARI appointment.  We have sent the application form off to the NISIG and my partner has spoken with them on the phone and said the women he spoke with sounded very nice and friendly.  Are there be a lot of guys at the meetings?  Is it couples or just the women??
