Hi baby, hope u are feeling good today.
We did DE nearly 2 years ago. We were in similar suituation. Our first cycle 13 eggs then 11 embroys. Then none to transfer. Our second cycle was similar. 13 eggs 11 embroys and two blastocyst(day 6)which were transfered. Like you I didn't have much hope I was happy that I got to the transfer stage as we had done no other treatment, donor was our only option. At the time the Doctor wasn't very positive about quality ( Hubbie sperm might be a problem)
We went to Spain for treatment. So transfer was Monday flew home Tuesday night and then at 5.30 am went to Australia with for wedding. Leaving my poor hubbie behind. I did take it easy when I got there but I climbed the Syndey bridge(my poor father was sent up with me ) So All I can say is I wish you all the best. Through our whole journey all I said was all we needed was just 1 embryo. We were blessed with twin girls last year.
It is so hard this journey that we are/have on. You have to take each day as it comes. Be kind to yourself and each other. I hope you will be as blessed as we are. Take care.
Hugs Catsx
I thought I should give an update. I've been having early pregnancy symptoms with this 3rd round IVF w/ ICSI, hot/cold waves, break out on my face, lower middle abd. pain. So needless to say, our hopes were quite high, I even had the feeling I am pregnant yesterday ev. But, all of this for nothing. Did blood test this am and it was BFN.
A&C if you do not mind will you share a little bit more info with me about the clinic you went to in Spain?
Thank you
Baby
Baby - I'm so sorry to see that your third attempt at IVf resulted in a BFN It's so hard to take, after all the efforts put in and especially when you had been feeling so hopeful. How are you feeling now? Have you been speaking to the clinic about the cycle and where you might go now?
I'm not sure if this has any relevance to your situation - but I had success on my 6th cycle (we did three fresh and three frozen cycles) and we eventually had success after investigating auto immune issues. The book I read that was most helpful was 'Is Your Body Baby Friendly?' by Dr Alan Beer and I then found a clinic that did the testing suggested in the book.
I really really hope you have success in the near future, Baby, whatever route you decide to take.
Hi Caitriona, congratulations on your success... sounds great to have frozen embryos, but we did not have any left after each "fresh" cycle. We have quality issues with embryos... So, I will be looking into donated embryos or eggs. What kind of testing did you do? And what kind of treatment? I am trying to keep my chin up, did not cry this time, I guess by now I am used to BFN... Not a good thing to get used to, but have no other choice.
Glad to hear you are bearing up, somehow, baby. It is heartbreaking. Your new road forward sounds exciting and I hope it brings you success and joy, preferably first time! I know several people who've had success with donor and the success stats certainly are encouraging.
The testing I had done was very comprehensive but basically was to investigate why my body might be rejecting embryos. It also looks to see is there possibly a compatability issue between the man and woman. There are various ways of treating these issues, depending on what shows up. I was lucky in that my treatment was not too complicated - I had steroids and blood thinners added to my protocol.
Good luck to you, baby.
