Re: First time IVF questions?
Hi hopeful

Please do use those excuses as they worked a charm – particularly the root canal (Appointment 1: root canal prep work, app 2: measuring of crown, app 3 fitting of crown).

I attended Clane Clinic and did three cycles with no success  (however I have two frozen embryo’s so I ‘m still hoping that I may be lucky yet! ).

Re: First time IVF questions?

HI hopeful  - this is my frst time logging on and I found your post really helpful as you were asking the questions I wanted to ask. I am in my third month of ovulation induction injecting Puregon day 3 \ 6 and 8 of my cycle. I just found out in nov that  I had fertility problems and i came as a huge shock. Like everyone else I thought it woudnt happen to me. I am a bit worried that I am wasting my time on these injections and should be pushing for IVF when its the next step anyway. I am attend Galway Clinic and they are very nice and helpful. Is there anyone else out there that is also using the Puregon Pen and had success or feels like it is worth staying on it for a bit longer? Would appreciate any feedback.

Re: First time IVF questions?

Covie, it is wonderful that you have little snow-babies  I hope they are the answer to all your prayers You are so resourceful.

Hopefull, I did not tell my boss either about our IVF cycles, this is the 3 rd one. Every time I took vacation time off at the last moment. They did not ask me why am I taking vac. time at this time of the year, and I did not volunteer any info either. If asked, I would most likely say I need a break. I have taken 2 wks off for every cycle so far. Here in the USA it is expected that you would have to go at least 4-5 mornings for blood work and US. The day of the retrieval you have to rest, and most likely the next day. The day of the transfer the same.

COB I used Follistim with the pen, the same as Puregon, this is an actual fertility drug used for either IVF or insemination or ovulation induction and timed intercourse. If you have to have IVF, you would still have to take the same injections, but most likely higher doses, and there will be other meds in the mix as well.  Actually, the 1st cycle I ordered my Follistim(Puregon) from the UK, it was much, much cheaper than here in the USA.

I wish you all good luck and all the best for your cycles and hope that it would be the last one for each one of you in the fight for a baby

Re: First time IVF questions?

Hi hopeful77

You mentioned that you are attending the Cork Fertility Centre.  What is the address and telephone of this centre? I would appreciate any information you can give me about it.  Best of luck.........

Thank you
