Re: Hari clinic

Hi Emlo. Sorry to hear of what you've been going through. It's tough

A few years ago, it took about three months for the first appt. You could call them to ask what the timeframe is (and also to check that your GP's referral letter has arrived - always worth doing!).  That first appt is usually with the consultant who will go through your case history and all your results and then will decide on what further testing to do, before calling you back for a review and discussion on what your best treatment options are.

It ought to speed things up for you if you can take along copies of all your test results to date. I'd imagine you won't have to repeat the Laparoscopy but they may want to repeat your CD3 and CD21 bloods to be sure of results. I'd say it is very likely that they'll want to repeat your partner's SA. It's pretty standard that every lab wants to have their own interpretation of the SA results as this makes a big difference to, for example, whether they would recommend ICSI over standard IVF (where they select a sperm to inject into the egg, versus leaving the egg and a sample of sperm to let fertilisation occur randomly).

One other thing - the Hari also do IUI (insemination) so bear in mind that you may not actually go straight to IVF, if they recommend that you try IUI first.  This can be done with natural cycles, with Clomid cycles or with injectable meds.

All the best!

Re: Hari clinic

PS!  I also meant to say that, if you're going for ivf, you'll need to have a clear smear test from within two years before the ivf cycle so it would be worth getting that organised now, if you don't have that already.  Smear tests can take a while to come back.

Re: Hari clinic

Hi Caitriona,

Thanks a bunch for all the information

I never taught of ringing to see if they got the referral letter, but will ring on Monday.

I will also get a smear done  and I will get an appointment for that too.

Thanks
