Hi All,
Im new to this so please forgive my ignorance ...husband has just had tesa biopsy for ICSI and we were advised by the clinic that we now have 8 straws..does anyone know in "normal" language what amounts are we talking about and how much is needed for each cycle.. I also found out today that i have an appointment next week with the clinic to get my prescription and i have been provisionally booked in for treatment last week of july..can anyone tell me if the final transfer will be carried out at that time?
Also from previous experience does the medical card cover the medication?
Thanks again
Dee
Hi Deirdre hope you are keeping well.
Sorry I can't be much help.
If you are not sure of anything I would advise contacting your clinic . When I went to my clinic I used to go with a list of questions (I would leave a page on table and when I think of anything no matter how small I'd write it down for when I went next ) Also maybe ring the Supportline. The girls might have more ideas than me. 1890 647 444

Hi Cats
Thanks for your reply. I dont know that it is about my clinic but i feel sometimes that were just being pushed to once side at times. The nurses are lovely but I dont think our consultant has looked us in the face while he was speaking to us once since we first met him. It seems like he is just going through the motions. Maybe its just me being a bit too paranoid but i dont know
Thanks for leaving me rant!!:L:L

Hey Dee - sorry to see that you're feeling somewhat at sea with things. I hope you have managed to get some answers from someone at the clinic since you posted. I'm afraid I can't answer the question about the straws either. I could guess but that is no good to you! As for the dates - you will need to check that out with the clinic too. It could be that this is the first date of your scan and the cycle will kick off from that point in which case it would be possibly a couple of weeks until Embryo Transfer. You'll have to check what their schedule is. Every clinic is different. Once you know a bit more just post any other questions and someone here will be able to help you along. Hoping you get clarification and support soon!
