Re: Donner recipiant

Hi Lyn,

hope you are keeping well. We did DE and had twin girls last year. I also was very nervous and exited. We went to Spain for our treatment. We were very happy with our clinic and how we were treated durning the hole experince/journey. Our first cycle we got 11 embroys. But by transfer day we had none. I found this extremely difficult. We had to travel home with nothing. Not even given the chance. Our second cycle we had the same 11 embroys and 2 left to transfer. None to freeze. The Doctor thinks it was something to do with DH sperm (antibodies) But we didn't have to worry about it in the end because it worked. On our second cycle we used a different donor that time.

We didn't do any IVF ,IUI. I was told I had early menopause FSH levels between 50-80 so Donor was our only option. We got through the hard days. we laughed, cried and supported each other. We told are family and close friends and they have been wonderful through the whole journey. We are truly blessed.

Wishing you all the best.

And yes THINK POSITIVE

Re: Donner recipiant

Hi Lynn

We r also going down the doner route and need doner eggs we r planning to have treatment in Ireland Sims but part of us having out ruled abroad mainly due to costs and that we could probably afford 2 goes abroad for one in Ireland. Also very excited but very nervous. If u don't mind me asking r u looking at egg r sperm donation. I am interested in that I notice you r having treatment in Ireland and if its egg then you will be on the same program as ourselves I would love to know how you r finding it and how much information you recieve on donor profile eg medical history etc Do you have many to choose from. There are some very good books out there regarding all types of donation. I found "Mommies, Daddies, Donors Surrogates by Dianne Ehrensaft available on amanzom particularly useful abour to read it for second time I have had it about a month.

Re: Donner recipiant

Hi Meave

Yes we are looking for egg donation as ive gone trough early menopause.

We chose sims mainly because its close to where we live. Yes it is expensive around 14k. But we figure what with flights accomadition ect in a forgin country it may be just as expensive. Also the sims use known doners ,Meaning that they have a proven record of fertility. We lill be able to find out all about our doners medicail history. not sure about anything else at monent as we are waiting to chose our doner.

The sims clinic is very good, once you get started it all moves very quickly.

Thanks for the references i will certintly look those books up.
