Dear Lyn
The next meeting is on saturday 7th march in dublin from 10 to 12 I think if you ring the help number they will put you right .I recieved an e mail about last meeting which I found.to be great, and i am looking forward to the next. It is great to be in a room of people who understand what your going through and who share their experiences. In the same way as you are doing on line because of that plus a post from pauline I feel I know much more about what actually happens with doner selection. By the way did all the doners have children and what was their (doner) average age. Having ten to choose from seems alot when you read messages on other forums it seems quiite good in comparison. But like you said alot are out ruled straight away because of bloodgroups colouring etc I can't wait to choose. Can you print off a copy of the doner list and in particular the one you selected I imagine in the in between time I would want to read and reread the profile to make it real.. After your husband had bloods completed did you have another meeting with Kathy and how soon after payment did you get to pick. Do you have 24 hrs to pick and did you get to choose a day, Lots of questions I am sorry. I reckon I ask you that many questions sims should have you on commission but getting answer from you makes me feel its the whole truth from tjhe heart and that its not a sales pitch. It makes it more realistic . Mid April sounds good I am going to ring Sims next week arrange repeat blood tests and take it from there. Thanks again I have been in great form since reading your good news . I log on most days and love seeing and reading new posts its is even beter than "chocolate"

hi mave
Yea most of the doners had children .The doners ranged in age from 21ish to 29.years you can print of a copy of the doner that you are considering You get two days to make a choice if none of the doners suit you can tell cathy, although im not sure what happens after that. if she sends you more or you have to waite. hubby had anouther blood test in jan i think and then one for HIV about three weeks ago. have you had your bloods and sis done? Thats realy all that there is to do . When you sign the acceptence form and paid the remaining fee your doner is put on medication to get ready for egg retriveal i never had IVF so not sure off the top of my head what she has to do.exactly.

Hi Lyn
Thanks for all the information it has been great. I have had ivf in the sims the protocol the doner most likly will follow is called the long protocol and involves down regulation first the pill then a sniffer to down regulate when that is completed she then starts stimulation drugs and once folliciles mature has egg collection. The length of time on the pill before had depended on when you could be schedualled for egg collection,. They book a day for that and then work backwards. It can take six weeks. I have had all my bloods done and sis and so far we have only paid for initial bloods and semen freeze. I will ring sims tomorrow to arrange hubbys repeat bloods as soon as quarnatine period is up I am taking it for granted that it is up to us to make next contact rather than vice versa. When do you have to get your lining scan done does that come before or after egg collection or both.
Take care
