Just back from the DCN meeting in London yesterday. There were loads of people there many with children alot of babies and .those waiting to start treatment both in the UK and abroad. It was very positive We were speaking to a 15 year old girl born as a result of sperm donation she has always known about being a doner concieved. child In her words her dad is her dad and she is not upset that she will never be able to trace doner she said she is just glad to be here and without him(the doner)  she wouldn't so advised us not to worry that our "child" may have any issues she had meet other doner concieved children over years and didn't know who of any who had an issue with same. There were  a panal of parents who answered questions on "who needs to know" again the general concenous was very positive and that telling can be an ongoing process. There are books and dvd which you can borrow or buy from their website I am just about to put one on. I come away from the meeting feeling happy with my decission to use sims ( spoke to other couples going abroad "spain"and they had recieved very little information and nothing at all prior to transfer they were told if positive only then do they get more info and even then it was basic. There were couples from all over including Ireland and like the nisig meetings people were very friendly I would recommend anyone thinking of using doners to seriously consider attending a meeting. Seeing  children from wee babies to fifteen sixteen years helped me confirm that it does work. I still plan to join you on VHI some time I am currently with Quinn and so am not egible but due for renewal soon so may change ovdr VHi have a plan simalar for simalar money.Its great news to hear your doner has started treatment 2 monthds will fly by. Hope you are keeping well.

We feel the same when we meet Olivia from the DC Network a few years back at the NISIG Conference.

We plan to tell are girls and it is great that we know that there is books dvd's etc to help us. We plan to tell our girls and it is good that we have the support of family and close friends. We are not at that stage yet. Durning our journey I kept a journal / diary. I plan to show this to the girls when they are older. I looked at it recently and there were some things in it I forgot. There was even some funny things I had wrote about. (the counsellor I went to, told me I had a very black sense of humor) But there was alot of tears too.  It was my way of clearing my head.

We are blessed and hope you will  be too.

im fine just waiting for call to go on to next step.I cant see how it would take four months when i had my scanat begining of this month my donner had started her treatment, so im thinking april for egg collection and may for transferr.  Maybe they say four in case things crop up ?

Meting on 9th is out for us,its our anneversery on the 5th,so well be celebrating that week end. Three years!!!!  Well get to meet someday Promise !
